Anastasia Sevcova is a landscape painter based in the coastal village of Moylegrove, Pembrokeshire. Her work is rooted in direct observation and a close engagement with place, with a particular focus on the Welsh coastline. These liminal environments, where land and sea meet, collide, and continually reshape one another, form a recurring theme in her paintings. She is drawn to the physical presence and emotional resonance of these landscapes and seeks to convey their energy through expressive mark-making, strong drawing, and luminous colour.
Alongside her coastal work, Anastasia also explores forests, gardens, and hillsides where order and growth coexist with wildness. Her paintings examine the balance between chaos and beauty within natural systems, often revealing unexpected forms, and relationships.
Working predominantly en plein air, she allows weather, light, and movement to influence her process, embracing chance and change as active collaborators. Nature functions not only as subject matter but also as a grounding presence – both a refuge and a mirror for inner experience. Her practice is informed by a quiet spiritual connection to landscape and a sensitivity to its shifting moods and rhythms.
