The wonderful Pembrokeshire landscape was my original inspiration to paint. The changing coastal light and wonderful colours are a gift and a challenge!
Art is an important part of my life, although I am primarily self taught. I have been encouraged and helped by many kind friends and local artists in recent years. I believe there is an artist in everyone of us, we just have to retain an open mind and a willingness to absorb, learn and be open to new influences.
I particularly love using watercolour in an expressive, free flowing style. However recently I have moved towards mixed media and on a larger scale.
My membership of Fishguard Arts Society has introduced me to so many lovely and talented artists. Their exhibitions have provided an opportunity to meet artists and discuss techniques which I have often incorporated into my own work.
I particularly enjoy attending workshops and visiting artists during North Pembrokeshire Open Studios.
The painting, called ‘All@C’ is one of my favourites because the family who bought it recognised the narrative behind the painting and it made them smile.
